The altercation involved “several students” and occurred at the end of lunch Tuesday, according to a message from Orange County Schools.

“We take any issue of school safety seriously, and we will always respond with keeping our students safe as the highest priority,” district officials wrote Tuesday.
Orange County Sheriff Charles Blackwood wrote in a post on Facebook that the deputies work “to make certain our students and staff have a safe place to learn, grow and express themselves. We remain committed to this goal.”
