All good things must come to an end.

The UNC volleyball team realized that the hard way on Friday night, as the Tar Heels saw their five-game winning streak snapped on the road at the hands of the Pittsburgh Panthers–which pulled off a dominant victory in straight sets (25-18, 25-10, 25-21).

It was the 13th win in a row for Pittsburgh (16-4, 9-0 ACC), good enough to remain the league’s lone unbeaten team in conference play.

Pittsburgh is also the only team to defeat UNC in straight sets since 2014.

Taylor Leath led the Tar Heels with eight kills in the match, but the team was held to a hitting percentage of just .173.

Kendra Koetter dished out 13 assists for UNC, while Holly Carlton reached double figures in that category as well–racking up 10 assists of her own.

The Panthers simply proved to be too strong in this match, showing why they’ve earned their spot atop the ACC standings.
