Over the weekend, residents braved the cold and ventured out to Franklin Street for the annual Chapel Hill-Carrboro Holiday Parade. It was perhaps the last time they would go outside, as Winter Storm Diego dropped eight to 12 inches of snow on the Triangle area later that evening.

There was a wide variety of floats and marchers at the parade, including the Chapel Hill High School marching band, the Grinch locked up by the Carrboro Police Department and even dance performers.
