In the eighth episode of “Inside Voices,” (available to stream at the bottom of this page) join host Kevin “Kaze” Thomas for a discussion with Sonny Kelly — the educator and multi-hyphenated creator with a doctorate from UNC and a successful solo play in the form of “The Talk.”

“The way I became an activist was I was just looking at the power of words and how, when we use words publicly — whether we perform them like I do, or whether we’re having conversations like the conversations that you lead — we’re actually doing something in the world,” said Kelly. “Ideas must be articulated. We must use words. So my mission, my method, my philosophy is that if we keep talking and we keep carefully designing environments where people can be courageous and create new discourses, then we’re part of the movement.”

Listen below for the full conversation between Kaze and Kelly concerning activism, art and creating a message that matters. Check back next week for a new installment of “Inside Voices” on 97.9 The Hill and Chapelboro.com.
