At UNC’s Eshelman School of Pharmacy, assistant professor Brianna Vickerman (also a recent Carolina grad) recently won a grant from NC Innovation for an exciting new innovation in cancer treatment: she’s developing a way to activate cancer drugs only in specific spots in the body, by triggering them with light.

Click here to read more about her research – which can also be applied to drugs treating other diseases as well.

Aaron chats with Vickerman about the project, and why it has the potential to be a major advancement in the treatment of cancer.
