Carolina earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Tournament on Sunday night, marking the 19th straight appearance in the field for the Tar Heels.

UNC will face Florida in the first round of the tournament on Friday at 6 p.m. in Charlottesville, VA. Carolina defeated the Gators in Chapel Hill in February by a 12-5 score. Should the Tar Heels advance, they would face the winner of No. 5 overall seed Virginia – the host of the first- and second-round matchups – or Long Island on Sunday. UNC split a pair of matchups with the Cavaliers this season, starting with an overtime win in Charlottesville. Virginia defeated Carolina 13-12 in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals on April 24.

Other ACC teams in the bracket include No. 2 overall seed Boston College, No. 3 Syracuse, No. 7 Notre Dame and Duke. For a full look at the bracket, click here.

Carolina is 42-21 all-time in NCAA Tournament play, including three national titles and 13 Final Four appearances (10 in the last 13 tournaments). Should the Tar Heels advance that far this year, they’d be playing close to home; the Final Four will be held at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary.
