UNC Women’s Lacrosse Head Coach Jenny Levy Signs 4-Year Contract Extension

UNC women’s lacrosse head coach Jenny Levy has agreed to a four-year contract extension which will keep her in Chapel Hill through the end of the 2027 season.

“I am extremely honored to not only be the head women’s lacrosse coach at North Carolina, but also to be given the trust and confidence to lead this program,” Levy said in a statement. “My staff and I are more determined and motivated than ever to keep making our university, fans and alumni proud, and we’re excited for the bright future ahead.”

Levy is the only head coach in the women’s lacrosse program’s history, having been hired at its inception in 1994. The 2023 season was her 28th with the Tar Heels, and in those 28 years she was won 411 games, the third-most in the history of Division I women’s lacrosse. Her win percentage of .770 (411-123) ranks sixth all-time.

Under Levy, Carolina has won seven ACC championships (including six in a row between 2016 and 2022), won 42 NCAA Tournament games, appeared in 13 Final Fours and won three national championships. Levy is one of only five head coaches to win at least three NCAA titles and was the first coach in ACC history to win at least 100 league games.

“Jenny Levy cares deeply about student-athletes, her program, the sport of women’s lacrosse and our university – and it shows each day,” said UNC athletic director Bubba Cunningham. “She has developed our women’s lacrosse program with integrity, and she has won three national titles by continuing to instill hard work, passion and leadership into everyone she coaches. We are happy that she has agreed to this extension and will continue to coach, teach and mentor at Carolina.”

Levy’s teams have produced 63 All-Americans, two Honda Award winners, 116 All-ACC selections, 11 ACC Players of the Year and 14 national players of the year. Levy is a seven-time ACC Coach of the Year and a three-time National Coach of the Year, and was inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2021.
