A road trip to Ann Arbor on Sunday proved to be a good one for the second-ranked UNC women’s tennis team, as the Tar Heels rolled to a 5-2 victory over the No. 27 Michigan Wolverines.
UNC (13-1) won the doubles point to start the match, which kept them undefeated in doubles competition to this point in the season.
From there, the Tar Heels responded to a Michigan singles victory by getting a quick win from Jessie Aney (6-0, 6-3) to take a 2-1 lead.
Michigan won the next match to tie the team score at 2-2, before Cameron Morra (7-6, 6-2), Alexa Graham (6-4, 7-6) and Makenna Jones (7-6, 6-1) closed things out with three consecutive wins for the Tar Heels.
