Thursday night’s rivalry showdown in Chapel Hill saw the fourth-ranked UNC women’s soccer team earn hard-fought 1-0 victory over the NC State Wolfpack.
Following a scoreless first half, the Tar Heels finally got on the board in the 52nd minute courtesy of Isabel Cox–who scored her third goal of the season after a successful give-and-go play with teammate Lois Joel.
The Tar Heels tallied 15 shots in the match, with the Wolfpack generating only four.
As a result, UNC moves to 9-1 this season with a 2-0 record in ACC play. NC State dropped to 5-4-1 with an 0-1-1 mark against conference opponents.
