A pair of UNC women’s tennis standouts each picked up victories in the first round of the Oracle ITA Masters tournament on Thursday in Malibu, California as No. 4 Alexa Graham and No. 7 Sara Daavettila each moved on to the Round of 16 in the event–which showcases 32 elite Division I players.

Graham defeated Stony Brook’s Jamie Wei in straight sets, 6-0, 7-6, while Daavettila knocked off William & Mary’s Rosie Cheng 6-2, 6-4.

The duo will compete in the next round on Friday, with a chance to advance to the quarterfinals later the same day.
