Needing to win the final two sets on Saturday in order to steal a road victory at Cameron Indoor Stadium against the rival Duke Blue Devils, the UNC volleyball team did just that.

The Tar Heels won 3-2 (22-25, 26-24, 20-25, 25-21, 15-12) in order to improve to 8-18 this season with a 4-13 mark against conference opponents.

Although it hasn’t been quite the season that UNC had hoped for in volleyball, the Tar Heels have now at least picked up victories over both of its top two rivals this year–Duke and NC State.

With the loss, Duke fell to 14-11 overall and 8-8 against ACC opponents.

Ava Bell led the Tar Heel attack with 15 kills, while Destiny Cox and Skylar Wine also reached double digits with 11 and 10, respectively.

Neither team had its best game on offense, as both teams posted hitting percentages below 16 percent. In addition, UNC committed 26 errors and Duke committed 37.
