As the wins continue to pile up for the UNC baseball team here in the earliest portion of the season, so too does its reputation.

The Tar Heels moved up one spot to No. 8 in this week’s D1baseball.com Top 25, becoming the highest-ranked team in the country that still has not suffered a loss.

Each of the top seven teams in this week’s poll–TCU, Florida, Florida State, LSU, South Carolina, NC State and Oregon State–saw themselves come up short on the scoreboard at least once last week.

Florida State and NC State continue to represent the only ACC schools still ranked ahead of the Tar Heels.

In total, the conference has six teams among the top 25.

At No. 9, Louisville is the fourth to be ranked inside the top 10–with No. 13 Virginia and No. 20 Clemson each making slow rises up the poll.

Only the SEC–at seven ranked teams–has more schools in the mix than the ACC.

The Tar Heels, meanwhile, will look to continue their perfect start to the season with five more home games in the near future.

First up is a Tuesday showdown with Winthrop, with another midweek contest against St. Johns on Wednesday.

Then UNC will welcome traditional powerhouse Long Beach State to Boshamer Stadium for a three-game series over the weekend.
