UNC junior Beni Rabinowitz was selected Wednesday as the ACC Fencer of the Week following a standout performance at the Temple Invitational on Sunday.

The Charlotte native went 5-0 in men’s sabre competition, as the Tar Heels split a pair of contests against St. John’s and Penn State.

Despite the team losing to Penn State, Rabinowitz went 3-0 individually against the Nittany Lions–including a pair of wins over opponents who qualified for the 2020 NCAA Championships.

UNC also defeated NJIT at the event, but Rabinowitz did not compete in that matchup.

Rabinowitz and the Tar Heels will host the ACC Fencing Championships this weekend at Carmichael Arena.
