The UNC volleyball team announced the signing of three new players on Friday, with Parker Austin, Skyy Howard and Carly Peck each signing their National Letters of Intent with head coach Joe Sagula and the Tar Heels.

“We are very excited to announce the first pieces to our 2019 class of great young women for our UNC program,” Sagula said. “These three student-athletes will have an immediate impact on our team and the culture as we establish the new focus for our program with their work-ethic, athleticism and their commitment to our vision for the future at Carolina Volleyball.

“These three players are only the start of what we see as one of the top classes to enroll at UNC,” the coach added.

Howard is scheduled to enroll at UNC in the spring, while Austin and Peck will join her in the summer.

On the court, Austin is a 6-foot-3 pin hitter from Edmonton who was a four-time MVP in high school and the captain of the U-16 Canadian national team.

Howard is a 6-foot-2 middle blocker from Charlotte (Mallard Creek) who was a two-time conference MVP and led the Carolina Union Volleyball Club to the AAU National Tournament in 2018.

A 5-foot-11 outside hitter, Peck is also from Charlotte (Providence). She was a three-time All-Conference selection and two-time MVP. She also played alongside Howard on the Carolina Union Volleyball Club.
