The UNC volleyball team won the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday when it swept Maryland Eastern-Shore 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-22) at Carmichael Auditiorium as part of the Carolina Classic.

For the second consecutive game–both Tar Heel victories–junior Skyler Wine led the charge offensively by finishing with 13 kills. Raleigh Clark was second on the team with seven, while Katharine Esterley chipped in six.

UNC (2-2) dominated each of the first two sets, before having to fight off a competitive effort from Maryland Eastern-Shore (0-5) in the third set–with the visiting side taking a 10-5 lead to begin that particular period.
