Playing as the No. 7 overall seed, the UNC men’s tennis team opened its NCAA Tournament run on Saturday morning in Chapel Hill with a 4-0 sweep over the Campbell Camels.

The Tar Heels were challenged a bit in the doubles portion of the match, before clinching the opening point with a pair of 6-4 victories on Court One and Court Three.

Singles competition was a different story, however, as UNC rolled to the win behind straight set victories from William Blumberg (6-0, 6-2), Simon Soendergaard (6-1, 6-4) and Blaine Boyden (6-4, 6-0).

It now marks the fifth year in a row that the Tar Heels have qualified for the Sweet 16 in men’s tennis.
