The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFCHA) recognized UNC sophomore Feline Guenther on Thursday as a Division I Scholar of Distinction.

Only players who achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.9 or better through the fall 2017 semester are eligible for the honor.

Guenther–a native of Hamburg, Germany–just completed her first season with the Tar Heels after spending a year at the University of Hamburg.

She started all 23 games in the midfield this past year for head coach Karen Shelton, while tallying four goals and five assists.

This comes in addition to Guenther earning Academic All-ACC honors following the conclusion of UNC’s season.
