A dominant 113-74 win on Saturday in St. Catherines, Ontario helped Team USA claim the FIBA Americas U-18 Championship, with incoming UNC freshman guard Coby White contributing 11 points and six rebounds to the cause.

White was also named to the All-Tournament team after the game, thanks to his high level of play throughout the entirety of the event–which saw Team USA put together a perfect 6-0 record.

Seven different players scored in double figures for the Americans in the gold medal game, as they shook off an early run by Canada before dominating the last three quarters of the game.

With Canada leading 12-7 midway through the first quarter, White scored five consecutive points to help Team USA spark a 12-0 run that would ultimately give them control of the proceedings for good.

It also represents the fifth consecutive gold medal in this event for Team USA, which is 59-2 all-time in FIBA Americas U-18 competition.

“Just playing with these guys was fun,” White said afterwards. “I’ve never really played on a team like this, but I feel like we gelled and came together like a real brotherhood, like family, quickly. That helped, too.”
