UNC senior goalkeeper Taylor Moreno was selected Tuesday as the ACC Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts in a pair of Tar Heel wins over Virginia this past weekend.
This marks the third ACC weekly honor of the season for Moreno, who had a combined eight saves across UNC’s two wins.
The top-ranked Tar Heels defeated the seventh-ranked Cavaliers by a score of 20-8 last Friday, then delivered another blowout victory by a score of 15-4 on Sunday.
With the wins, UNC moved to 14-0 this season and extended its program-record winning streak to 21 games. The Tar Heels have a chance to clinch the ACC regular season title on Thursday with a road game at Duke.
