UNC senior goalkeeper Taylor Moreno was selected Tuesday as both the National and ACC Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.

The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association gave Moreno the national honor, after she made 10 saves in the top-ranked Tar Heels’ 14-7 victory over No. 6 Stony Brook on Sunday.

Moreno held the Seawolves scoreless over the final 23:28 of the game, a period that encompassed the majority of the second half.

The Tar Heels will look for their second consecutive win to begin the season on Friday, when they host Florida at Dorrance Field.
