Not long after a ceremony dedicating the field at the new UNC Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium in his honor, head coach Anson Dorrance watched his fourth-ranked Tar Heel women’s soccer team cruise to a 3-0 victory over the visiting Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

The win moves UNC to 10-1 so far this season, and keeps the team unbeaten in ACC play at 3-0. Notre Dame, meanwhile, falls to 7-4 overall and 1-2 inside the conference.

Bridgette Andrzejewski provided the game-winning goal in the 28th minute when she tapped in a rebound in front of the net, while Brianna Pinto and Lotte Wubben-Moy each contributed goals in the second half as insurance.

Pinto now leads the team with seven goals on the year.

The Tar Heels thoroughly dominated the Fighting Irish all day, as they put forth 18 total shots while holding their opponents to just four.
