After handing No. 14 Duke its only loss of the young season this past Friday at Carmichael Arena, the UNC volleyball team came up short in its attempt to do it all over again on Sunday–falling to the Blue Devils by a score of 3-1 (25-21, 24-26, 25-18, 25-21).

The bitter rivals split the first two sets of the match, before Duke took both the third and fourth sets to clinch the victory and improve to 4-1 on the year.

Destiny Cox posted a team-high 19 kills for UNC (2-2), but was the only one of head coach Joe Sagula’s Tar Heels to reach double digits in that category.

UNC finished the match with a hitting percentage of .088. Duke, meanwhile, posted a .240 mark nearly three times as efficient as the Tar Heels.
