With the college soccer season just over a month away, UNC released its 2018 regular season schedule on Thursday–with no less than seven opponents on the docket who qualified for last year’s NCAA Tournament.

In addition, the Tar Heels will play five home games at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary and three home games at Koskinen Stadium on the campus of Duke University while their new stadium continues to undergo construction.

UNC will begin its quest to make its third straight College Cup with a season-opening match at Bryan Park in Greensboro against East Tennessee State (Aug. 24) as part of the Carolina Nike Classic, before earning a rematch of last year’s NCAA semifinal against Indiana in Cary on Aug. 26.

A road trip to William & Mary (Aug. 31) will follow the match vs. Indiana, before the Tar Heels return to the state of North Carolina for five consecutive games.

Back-to-back “home” games in Durham against Jacksonville (Sept. 3) and Pittsburgh (Sept. 8) precede road matches at Davidson (Sept. 11) and Duke (Sept. 14).

The Tar Heels will then take on UNC-Greensboro (Sept. 18) on the road as they get ready to travel to South Bend for a match at Notre Dame on Sept. 21.

A three-game homestand against Clemson (Sept. 28), UNC-Wilmington (Oct. 2) and Virginia Tech (Oct. 6) awaits the Tar Heels when they return from Notre Dame.

Next up is a trip to Norfolk to face Old Dominion (Oct. 9) and a visit to Raleigh for the annual rivalry showdown against NC State (Oct. 12).

UNC will close the season with a pair of home games vs. Winthrop (Oct. 16) and Virginia (Oct. 26) sandwiched around a road visit to Boston College on Oct. 19.
