The No. 20 UNC men’s soccer team earned its first win of the 2019 season on Friday night in Chapel Hill, putting together a 6-0 blowout over the visiting Harvard Crimson.

Alex Rose scored the first goal 52 seconds into the match, setting the tone for what would turn into a completely one-sided demolition for the Tar Heels (1-1-1).

UNC took a 2-0 lead into the halftime break after Jack Skahan scored on a beautiful shot from 20 yards out. In the second half, things became even more lopsided as the Tar Heels received goals from UCLA transfer Santiago Herrera, Antonio Lopez, Cameron Fisher and another from Skahan.

Rose assisted on the team’s final two goals of the night, making him UNC’s top point-getter in the match.

In total, the Tar Heels tallied an eye-popping 35 shots while holding Harvard (0-1) to just four.
