UNC junior Matt Constant was recognized Monday as the ACC Men’s Soccer Defender of the Week, as he spearheaded the Tar Heel defense in back-to-back outstanding performances against Davidson and Notre Dame.
The Tar Heels fought to a scoreless draw through two overtimes against Davidson last Tuesday, but held the Wildcats without a single shot on goal. In a 2-0 win over No. 16 Notre Dame on Saturday, UNC held the Fighting Irish to just one shot on goal–the only one let up by the team in 200 minutes of action through the week.
Constant will again anchor the back line in the Tar Heels’ next match on Friday, when Duke pays a visit to the new Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium in Chapel Hill.
