After posting averages of 13 points and 12.5 rebounds per game in the Tar Heels’ two wins over Navy and Charleston Southern, UNC forward Malu Tshitenge was named Monday as the ACC Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Week.

Tshitenge had 11 points and nine rebounds against Navy on Veteran’s Day, before exploding for 15 points and 16 rebounds on Friday against Charleston Southern.

Through three total games, she is averaging 15 points and an ACC-leading 10.7 rebounds per outing.

Tshitenge and the Tar Heels return to action on Friday when they host Elon.
