Finalists for this year’s Senior CLASS Award in both men’s and women’s soccer were revealed on Friday, with UNC’s Alex Comsia and Julia Ashley each among the 20 selected.
Thirty men and 30 women were nominated the honor, but each of those groups has been whittled down to 10 apiece–with Comsia and Ashley still in the running.
The Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
In order to be eligible, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.
