The awards continue to roll in for UNC sophomore field hockey sensation Erin Matson, who earned her third National Player of the Week honor of the season on Wednesday by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.

Matson has also claimed the ACC Offensive Player of the Week award in four of the five weeks it has been handed out this season.

The top-ranked Tar Heels are currently 9-0 this season, and are coming off a pair of road victories this past weekend against No. 5 Virginia and James Madison.

In those contests, Matson tallied five goals and two assists–including a four-goal performance against James Madison.

With 15 goals and nine assists on the season, she is currently the leading scorer in the entire country.

Matson and the Tar Heels are scheduled to return to action this Friday, when they host No. 2 Duke (7 p.m.) in a battle of the nation’s top two teams.
