ESPN released a list Thursday of its top 25 head coaching hires in men’s college basketball over the last 25 seasons, with UNC’s Roy Williams earning the No. 1 spot for what he’s done since leaving Kansas to take the job at his alma mater prior to the 2003-04 season.

No head coach has won as many national championships as Williams in that span, as he’s delivered titles to Chapel Hill in 2005, 2009 and 2017. In addition, Williams has posted a remarkable record of 467-152 with the Tar Heels and claimed at least a share of nine ACC regular season championships.

Behind Williams in the top five on ESPN’s list are: No. 2 Jay Wright (Villanova), No. 3 Tom Izzo (Michigan State), No. 4 Bill Self (Kansas) and No. 5 John Calipari (Kentucky).
