While we’re all doing our part to flatten the curve, Arete has a few simple ways to stay centered and calm. In the midst of all the concern & chaos of the world, we need to be mindful of our mental health while we’re protecting our physical health as well.
There are several benefits to regular daily stretching. Not only can stretching help increase your flexibility, which helps you exercise safely, but it can also reduce stress and soothe body aches.
Gentle stretching for at least ten minutes per day can make a big difference and improve your circulation. Steady blood flow helps reduce muscle tension and soreness.
Our muscles tighten up in response to physical and emotional stress. When stretching, focus on areas of your body where you tend to hold your stress, such as your neck, shoulders, and upper back.
Remember: Don’t over-do it! Start small and only stretch your muscles to the point of mild discomfort. If it hurts, you’re pushing too hard.
