Home runs from Ashton McGee and Brandon Martorano helped lift the 16th-ranked UNC baseball team to a 6-1 victory on Tuesday night at Boshamer Stadium over the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.

McGee kicked off the scoring for UNC in the bottom of the second inning with an RBI single, before following that up with a solo homer in the fifth inning that doubled the Tar Heel lead.

Martorano then went deep in the very next at bat, giving UNC back-to-back home runs and plenty of momentum to carry on the rest of the way.

Junior right-hander Andrew Grogan was the main beneficiary of the offense, as he went 7.2 innings on the mound while giving up just one run–on a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning.

Grogan earned his third win of the season on the mound, limiting Coastal Carolina (24-17-1) to just five hits in the game.
