Surratt was selected Monday as the ACC Linebacker of the Week for his stellar performance in the Tar Heels’ 31-6 win over Syracuse this past Saturday.
A preseason All-American expected to be selected early in the 2021 NFL Draft, Surratt lived up to the hype against the Orange–finishing with a team-high nine tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and a pair of sacks.
Both the sacks and tackles for loss represented new career-highs for the former quarterback, who also helped the Tar Heels hold Syracuse to just 202 total yards–the fewest yards given up against an ACC opponent since 2009.
Surratt and the Tar Heels are scheduled to return to action this Saturday, when they host Charlotte in a non-conference game marking the first ever meeting between the two schools.
