UNC announced Monday that it has agreed to a home-and-home football series against South Carolina, with the games set to take place during the 2028 and 2029 seasons.

The first of the two games will happen in Columbia, SC on Sept. 2, 2028. South Carolina will then make the return trip to Kenan Stadium for a game on Sept. 1, 2029.

UNC and South Carolina are also scheduled to open the 2023 season against one another at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte–which is where the most recent meeting in 2019 took place as well, a 24-20 UNC win in the first game of Mack Brown’s second tenure as head coach.

Overall, the Tar Heels lead the all-time series against the Gamecocks with a 35-19-4 record in 58 meetings.
