The UNC secondary took yet another big blow on Saturday, when it was revealed that true freshman safety Cam’Ron Kelly will miss the rest of the 2019 season with a torn ACL.

Kelly was hurt in the Tar Heels’ loss to Clemson on Sept. 28, having just taken over the starting position at strong safety in place of junior Myles Wolfolk–who has missed the last two weeks with a lower body injury.

A four-star prospect coming out of high school, Kelly flipped his commitment from Auburn to UNC late in the recruiting period.

Through UNC’s first five games, he had recorded seven tackles.
