In the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Washington Football Team used the 82nd overall pick on UNC junior wide receiver Dyami Brown.

Brown spent each of the last two seasons as the top deep threat for UNC quarterback Sam Howell, and became the first UNC receiver to ever post back-to-back seasons of at least 1,000 yards.

Over the last two seasons, Brown has caught 106 passes with an average of more than 20 yards per reception. He finishes his career in Chapel Hill with a total of 123 receptions for 2,306 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Brown is tied for second in UNC history in touchdown receptions and ranks seventh in receiving yards, despite getting major playing time for only two years.

In Washington, he will join former Carolina Panthers’ head coach Ron Rivera–who has assembled a receiving corps built around speed. That group includes Terry McLaurin and former Panther Curtis Samuel.

The Football Team won the NFC East division last season with a 7-9 record before falling to the eventual Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.
