UNC point guard Caleb Love was named the ACC Men’s Basketball Freshman of the Week on Monday for his efforts in the team’s wins over Wake Forest and NC State.

In those two games, Love averaged 17.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.5 steals per outing–all while making 13 of his 28 total shot attempts.

Against Wake Forest, he also set a new career high with 20 points. The Tar Heels also scored at least 80 points in back-to-back games for the first time all season.

Love is now the third UNC freshman to win the ACC’s weekly honor this season, joining guard R.J. Davis and forward Day’Ron Sharpe.

The Tar Heels are set to return to action Tuesday night at Pittsburgh, which is led by two-time reigning ACC Player of the Week Justin Champagnie.
