UNC junior midfielder Brianna Pinto was chosen as one of three finalists for this year’s women’s MAC Hermann Trophy, recognizing the top player in college soccer.
Pinto–a Durham native–has led the Tar Heels to an 18-1 record an appearance in the College Cup so far this season, while ranking fourth nationally with 13 goals.
The No. 3 pick in the NWSL Draft earlier this year has also added five assists.
A semifinalist for the MAC Hermann trophy last season, Pinto is seeking to become the first Tar Heel to win the award since current U.S. National Team star Crystal Dunn did so back in 2012.
Voting for the award is conducted by NCAA Division I women’s soccer head coaches. A winner will be formally announced on May 27.
