Round One of the ACC Men’s Golf Championship came to a conclusion on Friday, with UNC senior Ben Griffin leading the way for the Tar Heels after firing a 5-under-par 67 at the Old North State Club.

Griffin recorded birdies on three of the first six holes he played, while also picking up birdies on both the 17th and 18th holes to close out the round.

It was Griffin’s team-high 10th round in the 60’s this season, and it matched his career-best score for any round in the ACC Championship.

As a team, UNC sits at 5-under-par–good enough for sixth place and six shots behind first-place Georgia Tech.
