UNC junior guard Seventh Woods announced Thursday via his Instagram that he is transferring for his final year of eligibility.

Despite losing guards Coby White and Kenny Williams this offseason, the Tar Heels recently received commitments from highly-touted recruits Cole Anthony and Anthony Harris.

On top of this, four-star guard Jeremiah Francis had already been committed to UNC for next year–which would provide Woods with plenty of competition for playing time entering his final year on campus.

In 94 career appearances for the Tar Heels, Woods averaged 1.8 points and 1.5 assists per game.

Woods arrived at UNC prior to the 2016-17 season–one in which he would go on to win a national championship–with a great deal of notoriety thanks to incredible highlight tapes of his that began getting released on YouTube when he was just 14 years old.

This is his official statement on the decision to transfer, according to his Instagram:

“My three years here at UNC has been nothing short of amazing,” Woods said. “Two regular season championships, a National Championship and group of brothers that I would cherish for life. I wouldn’t go back and change any decision I’ve made but I do feel like it’s time for a change, with that being said I plan on finishing my academic and basketball career elsewhere. To the coaches, thank you so much for giving me an opportunity and helping me grow as a player and a man. To my teammates…. y’all know what’s up 😢 I love y’all forever and will always cherish what we have been through and accomplished as a group. To any and everyone who has help me overcome the struggles throughout my college career, I am forever thankful. I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and the best is yet to come ! – The pain you have been feeling, can’t compare to the JOY that is coming”
