The UNC football team stayed ranked but dropped three spots from No. 17 to No. 20 in Sunday’s newest AP Poll following the Tar Heels’ double-overtime win against App State.
Also representing the ACC are Florida State at No. 3, Duke at No. 21 and new entry Miami at No. 22. The Hurricanes are fresh off beating a ranked Texas A&M team on Saturday. A notable team to drop out of the poll completely is Clemson, who trailed Charleston Southern in the first half before eventually pulling away. The Tigers received the most votes of any unranked team. No other ACC team received votes. For a full look at this week’s AP Poll, click here.
Carolina’s next opponent, Minnesota, received three votes after its 2-0 start. The Tar Heels and Golden Gophers are set to square off in their first-ever meeting in football next Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in Kenan Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
