Michael Jordan’s venture into the NASCAR Cup Series took its next step on Friday, when the manufacturer and paint scheme were revealed for the car.

Alongside current Cup Series star Denny Hamlin, Jordan created 23XI Racing — which will run the No. 23 Toyota Camry driven by Bubba Wallace next season.

The primary paint scheme is red, white and black in a clear nod to Jordan’s playing days with the Chicago Bulls. Hamlin and Wallace appeared on CBS This Morning to reveal the details.

Wallace is currently the only African-American driver in NASCAR, while Jordan joins former UNC teammate Brad Daugherty as just the second active black owner and third in the sport’s history.

Toyota Racing Development will build the team’s engines and provide technical assistance, while Hamlin’s current team — Joe Gibbs Racing — will provide chassis and other services to 23XI Racing.

“My main goal for 23XI Racing is to be competitive for a championship as soon as possible,” Jordan said in a statement. “Our partnership with Toyota and Joe Gibbs Racing gives us the equipment, resources and expertise to do it.”
