Caleb Wilson broke UNC men’s basketball’s drought of first round NBA Draft picks on Tuesday night, as he was selected by the Chicago Bulls with the fourth overall pick.

Wilson, who attended the NBA Draft show in New York City, is headed to the pros after putting up a historically productive season with the Tar Heels before a pair of hand injuries ended his lone year in the program. But the Georgia native is a fan favorite thanks to his on-court talent and off-court charm. Once his name was called by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, the official UNC and Chicago Bulls accounts shared the selection alongside sports outlets.

While he shared several messages to Bulls fans on Tuesday night, Wilson shared a photo from his childhood with a message to the Chicago faithful as a sign of his excitement. Both before and following his selection, the star UNC freshman also shared a few messages to Carolina fans too.

Tar Heels fans and fan accounts on social media shared their excitement and appreciation for Wilson, while several Chicago fans did too — with many making connections to other UNC greats to play for the Bulls and the fact that Wilson shares a first name with the Chicago Bears star quarterback, Caleb Williams.

Here are some of the highlights from social media on Tuesday night reacting to Wilson’s draft pick:

Caleb Wilson rocks, he was statistically dominant at a young age even with some holes in his game. I became convinced he has the right mentality to continue to improve while reporting out this story. Check it out:

So in Chicago if you say Caleb that usually means Caleb Williams so for Caleb Wilson is that like a Caleb W² situation or how is this officially being handled so I can get on board

The amount of times Caleb Wilson is going to be called Caleb Williams and vice versa on Chicago sports talk radio is going to be off the charts. It will be glorious
