UNC men’s basketball closed its regular season in the best possible way on Saturday: beating Duke and claiming the outright ACC regular season title.
The Tar Heels earned the 84-79 victory and eventually made the trip in the team bus to Franklin Street, where UNC students and community members greeted them after rushing the downtown of Chapel Hill, as is tradition after beating the Blue Devils. Here are some posts shared on social media of the action:

The regular season title is UNC men’s basketball’s first since the 2018-19 season. The trophy was on the bus for the Tar Heels as they traveled back to Chapel Hill, with players like Harrison Ingram, Zayden High and Cormac Ryan showing it off.
Ryan starred for Carolina on Saturday, scoring a career high 31 points off six made three-pointers. After a streaky season, many Tar Heel fans and media members posted about how the sixth-year player and transfer chose to have a signature performance at the right time: in a game against Duke.

After the game, some Tar Heel fans took to posting photos with their brooms to celebrate Carolina’s regular seasons sweep of their rivals.
Plenty of UNC men’s basketball alumni also hopped onto social media to make posts about the win. Some wrote about the sweep, some pulled up receipts of prior posts from Duke fans, and some — okay, it was just Brandon Robinson — shared a throwback photo of UNC’s leading scorer on the night.
Below are some other highlights, jokes, and posts shared by Carolina fans in the wake of the men’s basketball team’s win on Saturday.

With the win and being the No. 1 seed in the ACC men’s basketball tournament, UNC will be back in action on Thursday to face the winner of the eight- and nine-seed game between Virginia Tech and Florida State. The game is slated to tip off at 12 p.m. in Washington D.C., the site of this year’s tournament.
