One of the greatest players to ever put on a UNC football jersey–defensive end Julius Peppers–earned yet another prestigious honor to his career full of them on Monday, when he was selected to the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 2010’s.

Peppers, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2002 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers–finished his 17-year pro career with 715 tackles and 159.5 sacks, a number which ranks fourth in the history of the NFL.

After leaving the Panthers following the 2009 season, Peppers spent 2010-13 with the Chicago Bears before spending the next three seasons as a member of the Green Bay Packers. he then returned to the Panthers for the 2017 and 2018 campaigns before finally retiring prior to the 2019 season.

Peppers ended his career with six All-Pro selections, nine Pro Bowls and was also a member of the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 2000’s.

He is now a special assistant of business operations for the Panthers.
