The UNC football program and head coach Mack Brown announced Monday that they have hired former Tar Heel great Kevin Donnalley as their director of high school relations
Donnalley had spent the last four seasons as the director of student-athlete development at Charlotte. He also played 13 seasons in the NFL as an offensive lineman from 1991-2003 after earning All-American honors at UNC during his senior season in 1990.
His new role at UNC will have him provide outreach to all high school coaches by establishing, maintaining and improving relationships between them and the football staff–with a goal of building relationships that can enhance the program’s recruiting efforts.
“We’re excited that Kevin is joining our staff in this critical position,” Brown said. “He has a true passion for Carolina and a wealth of experience across all levels of football. He was an All-American for us here during our first stint in Chapel Hill and went on to have an excellent career in the NFL. Then, he was able to add to his experience by spending time at the collegiate level in player development at Charlotte. He’ll be a valuable resource for both our parents and the high school coaches.”
Brown also shared a tweet welcoming Donnalley.
Excited to have Kevin on board. The more talented ex-players we have as part of our staff the better. He can tell the story of what it's like to play at Carolina and that it's truly a 40-year decision, not a 4-year decision.
Welcome back to Chapel Hill, my friend. https://t.co/Q5The25GLN
