There have been numerous reports of downed trees and power lines due to heavy rain and high winds from the remnants of Hurricane Michael. The storm made landfall at the Florida panhandle as a major Category 4 hurricane before churning through states across the southeast.

The Town of Chapel Hill is updating its latest road closure information here. Orange County has established a similar page to report closures throughout the county.

The storm prompted schools across central North Carolina to close on Thursday and most districts are closed once again Friday.

There are no estimations from Duke Energy or Piedmont Electric as to when power will be restored.
