According to a release from OWASA, the installation of a new water line at the intersection of West Cameron Avenue and South Columbia Street in Chapel Hill has been completed, after closure and detour for “critical water main repairs” began on July 27.
Crews will continue working on the area from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, finishing paving and cleanup, in efforts to return the intersection to normal by August 10, weather permitting. Through traffic will be maintained on West Cameron Avenue and South Columbia Street, but motorists should still expect traffic delays in the area as this paving and work continues.
OWASA has been working in the area of West Cameron Avenue and South Columbia Street since early July, as the service agency installs a new water line, and updates on the next phase of the project can be found here.
