The Orange Water and Sewer Authority responded to a water main break in Chapel Hill on Thursday morning along Willow Drive.
OWASA and the Chapel Hill Police Department shared alerts with the community warning of Willow Drive being closed to through traffic from South Estes Drive to Conner Drive starting just before 9 a.m. All businesses on the road, including entrances to University Place mall, are still accessible.
The water and sewer agency said the repairs of the water main will roughly take four to six hour to complete, while fixing the road will extend into the weekend.
OWASA also said there would be some affected customers in the area as a result of the break. Once repairs are complete, the agency said it would issue a boil water advisory for those customers by contacting them directly. Anyone who has questions is encouraged to contact OWASA Customers Service at 919-537-4343, according to its alerts on social media.
