The Chapel Hill Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a community member who’s been reported missing for a week.
A release from the department on Friday said Donald Ray Alston, a 47-year-old Chapel Hill resident, was reported missing. He was last seen on Friday, July 28 around 7 p.m. in the area of Greene Street, which is near Umstead Drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
Chapel Hill Police described Alston as 5-foot-10 and weighing around 235 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, black shoes, and a maroon shirt. Police said Alston is not believed to be in any danger.
Police encouraged anyone with information on Alston’s location or wellbeing to call 911 or contact the department directly at 919-968-2760 during business hours. Callers who wish to remain anonymous can also use the Chapel Hill-Carrboro-UNC CrimeStoppers hotline (919-942-7515) or website.
