UPDATE: The Carrboro Police department shared an update at 6:50 p.m. saying the “situation is resolved with no injuries.”
The Carrboro Police Department issued an alert Friday evening saying officers are responding to a “barricaded subject” within an apartment community.
Posts on social media sent out around 6:15 p.m. said officers are on call at 501 Jones Ferry Road, which is the Collins Crossing Apartments complex. While police said there is no danger to the surrounding community or town, residents and the greater public are asked to avoid the area if possible.
